Inspiration

Books that have changed my life:

Life of Pi by Yann Martel:
Absolutely amazing book! I've read it, literally, 4 times. The last time I read it, I kept a journal of all the amazing, smart, wonderful, interesting parts. The author has created a character that you easily find yourself falling in love with. At first, I refused to believe that this story was a work of fiction.

For more information, visit this excellent site dedicated to the book:

The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis:
Mr. Lewis has such an amazing story telling ability. I found the book captivating! Each story is written in a way that you feel like you're actually entered into the land of Narnia. Long live Aslan!!

Mere Chrisitanity by C.S. Lewis:
The first piece of work that I read by Mr. Lewis was The Chronicles of Narnia. A friend of mine bought me my first copy of Mere Chrisitanity. Since that initial introduction to the book, I've read it 3 times, listened to book being read online twice.... and have designated C.S. Lewis as my all time favorite author. A wonderful piece of work. His analogies are beyond what I imagined.

The Power of Kabbalah by Yehuda Berg:

Kabbalah interests me in such a unique way. I love science and of course theology, and Kaballah has such a beautiful way of expressing both. This book I found extremely helpful and

 The Shack by Wm. Young:
Okay... okay.. Okay... what a marvelous story! I know the insight that I received from this book will stay with me forever.

I love The God Memorandum.

Written very lovely.

Sincerity:

Kabbalah's Tree of Life:
Isn't it interesting the similiarties between ancient Kabbalah text and the findings of 21st century quantum physics? I've recently watched a video based on a book called: Imagining the Tenth Dimension by Robert Bryanton. Of course my brain hurt a little after watching it, lol, but I found it completely interesting.

The Tao:
Opposites in everything. My mind relates it to the word Interdependence. One exists because of the other, but that wouldn't exist without the others' existance.

Sufism:
In my opinion, I've never read of such love inspired wisdom.

'In your light I learn how to love.
In your beauty, how to make poems.
You dance inside my chest, where no one sees you, but sometimes I do,

and that sight becomes this art.

Things that seem to absolutely fascinate me:

Nebulae:

How gorgeous! The size involved is beyond my fathomable ability, but my eyes are extremely delighted.

Planet Earth, Our Home:
Look at our planet. My goodness, what other planet looks like ours? I've heard it called the 'Crowned Jewel' of the Universe. That pale blue dot. Our home. I suggest for everyone to watch a documentary called: The Privileged Planet.

Fractals:

Io in front of Jupiter:

Lotus Blossom:
What a perfect example of being in the world, but not of it. The flower grows in a swamp, but rises through the water to become such a gorgeous blossom.

The Human Fetus:
I can probably talk about the amazement I have for the human being endlessly.
-Within day 1 of fertilization, all the human chromosomes are present - that unique human life begins.
-By day 22, the heart begins to beat with the child's own blood, often a different type than the mothers'.
-Week 4: the child is ten thousand times larger than the fertilized egg
-Week 17: The baby can have dream (REM) sleep.

The rate at which the baby grows is phenomonal! All the millions of things growing, duplicating, growing is incredible!!

Neurons:
I've been studying about the brain and the neurons that make up the brain for a couple years now. I can truly say I'm left speechless at times.
*Average number of neurons in the human brain= 100 billion ((CRAZY))
*Rate of neuron growth during development of a fetus (in the womb)= 250,000 neurons/minute ((EVEN MORE CRAZY))
*There are more nerve cells in the human brain than there are stars in the Milky Way ((WHAT!?!))
*Velocity of a signal transmitted through a neuron: 1.2 to 250 miles/hour ((AMAZING))
